PDF-to-Image Quality

PDFs are vector; converting to an image rasterizes them. Higher scale means sharper but larger files. Use PNG for text/charts to avoid JPEG ringing; JPEG 0.9 works for photos. 1.5x suits screens, 2x suits print/zoom.
